FEHRL
SE "NIDI" was elected as a FEHRL member during the 18th FEHRL general assembly held in Oslo Norway on 11-12 October 2007.
FEHRL - Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories is a registered international Association including more than 32 national research and technical institutions established in Europe, including members throughout the EU members states, EFTA countries and Eastern European countries, also Israel and the USA.
FEHRL was created in 1989, by the Directors of road research institutes from thirteen different countries.
In 2000, FEHRL became an international association, with its registered office in Brussels: the FEHRL Secretariat.
FEHRL’s mission is to promote and facilitate collaboration on road research and provide high quality information and advice on technologies and policies related to roads. Staffs from the national institutes provide the technical input for all projects.
Through the specification and delivery of research, FEHRL’s main objectives are to:
- Provide scientific input to European and national government policy on highway engineering and road transport matters.
- Create and maintain an efficient and safe road network in Europe.
- Increase innovation in European road construction and road-using industries.
- Improve the energy efficiency of highway engineering and operations.
- Protect the environment and improve quality of life.
